Men-only Self-defense class 

Our self-defense session is for men only, as a way to connect with one another, to become comfortable in your own body and to handle strong emotions.

I personally think that we as a society have lost the connection with ourselves and others. Not too long ago men would've spent a lot of time together—building & repairing, hunting as well as fighting.

You will definitely gain self-defense skills through these sessions but more importantly it is your opportunity to become a better man, father, partner and brother.

Striking, Wrestling, Grappling and Weaponry

Every class we cover the basics: How to strike, how to throw someone, how to hold someone down as well as making them submit.

Unlike your regular Martial Arts class, we focus on simple yet effective techniques, that can be learned by anyone. Another focus is learning how to get hit, thrown and choked without stressing out.

Lastly, we also do self-defense against knives, as this is sadly a reality you might face.

Controlled sparring

Techniques are great, but can you use them under pressure? How do you handle yourself when someone is actively trying to hurt you? 

When we deem you ready, we engage in controlled sparring through striking, grappling, stabbing and wrestling, but only if you are able to control yourself well enough, not before.

My personal focus beyond anything is to keep you safe—no point in breaking you as there's nothing to gain from this. For this reason our sessions are limited

5 spots only: Once you're comfortable with physical altercation the risk is minimal as you can maintain composure. But until you reach that stage, you're training with me--so I safeguard the wellbeing of the other men

Focuses on the human aspect

As mentioned before, these sessions are not about becoming a cage fighter and dominating the world through violence. Instead the focus is on learning how to regulate under pressure, on how to inflict and receive pain without emotion, and to form a deep connection with your fellow brothers.

The aim is to become a better person, and self-defense is the tool of choice in this case.

Talking & meditation

You will obviously experience a fair bit of emotional discomfort, anxiety, pain, frustration--tools for growth. But we also aim to help you process and digest said emotions through taking breaks, talking and meditation at the end.

When the hour is over, every man has the opportunity to directly talk to the other men and speak their mind. A moment of vulnerability after hardship.
